The Effects of Work-life balance in Organizational Culture of Father and Parenting Recognition and Parenting Doing on Parental Attachment

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of work-life balance in organizational culture of father and parenting recognition and parenting doing on parental attachment. A total of 365 Father(M = 38.24, SE = 4.26) with children under grade 2 in elementary school participated in the study. They responded to questionnaires regarding work-life balance in organizational culture, parenting recognition, parenting doing, parental attachment. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Model Analysis. The results were as follows: Work-life balance in organizational culture of father had an indirect effect through parenting recognition and parenting doing on the parental attachment. Father who experienced WLB organizational management, WLB supportive supervisors, empathetic communication with coworkers, coworkers’ material support to WLB and accessibility to WLB programs showed a higher level of parental attachment though parenting recognition and parenting doing. The findings of this research indicates that work-life balance in organizational culture of father play significant roles in predicting parenting recognition, parenting doing and parental attachment.
