ABSTRACT
Our study focused on constructivist educational beliefs, eco-friendly teaching attitudes, and mathematical
teaching efficacy of early childhood teachers to examine its relationship with and relative influence on the
recognition of importance and degree of implementation of mathematics activities using natural objects. For
this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 399 early childhood teachers daycare centers and
kindergartens in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon. The analysis found statistically significant correlations
between them. Mathematics teaching efficacy and eco-friendly teaching attitude had a significant influence
on the recognition of importance and degree of implementation of mathematics activities using natural
materials while controlling the period of careers of early childhood teachers, but constitutional educational
beliefs had no influence. This study argues for the necessity of teachers positive recognition and
implementation of mathematics activities using natural objects and provides basic data for developing the
teacher education program to enhance the frequency mathematical activities utilizing natural objects.
